After having emergency surgery for over 11 hrs, James spent the next 3 weeks in Frenchay Hospital. James had cancer. The 'mass' was a malignant tumour called an Anaplastic Ependymoma. James was gravely ill, but we were delighted when he was allowed to come home on Christmas Eve, for 2 days, going back on Boxing day for injections straight in to his cerebrospinal fluid through the top of his head due to having an infection.
